Fast Five

*Breathes in and out* ok, here's how it goes. Fast and Furious 5 : Rio Heist, is the, and again....THE BEST among the 5 Fast and Furious series. My God, I never thought Justin Lin would pull off such an awesome job.

And when I said its an awesome job, its like telling you how Kanye West managed to produced the best hip hop album in 2010 or the decade.

Justin Lin was the fella behind The Fast and Furious : Tokyo Drift. That movie might have had more negative reviews than positive ones, but its a good thing he did add in drifting, tuners and Japanese racing culture into the Fast and Furious franchise.

The movie trailer released 4 months ago, judging from what is shown in the trailer, I wasn't disappointed after the credits roll. Justin delivered everything that's expected to be in a bank heist + fast cars and races flick.

And I guess he must have missed a few physics classes in school, because right at the beginning of the movie O'Conner be taking out a bus full of fugitives with a muscle car. The bus be flipping 3 to 4 times when it hit his car.

So back to the review, Fast 5 (In short) is about Dom, Mia and O'Connor reuniting in Rio de Janeiro to pull off one final job to steal a couple of rare exotic rides. Things of course, went wrong and again, they are wanted by a business man named Reyes, who controls the favela in Brazil. One of the cars they've taken has a chip that contains all deals that's worth 10 million dollars each. Dom and O'Connor were kidnapped after the supposedly final job, escaped and vowed to take all of Reyes' fortune.

Hunting them down is DSS Agent Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson a.k.a The Rock) and his team of elite enforcers to arrest Dom, Mia and O'Connor. Elena Neves, a local officer, assists Hobbs in his mission.

The hunted trio escapes from Hobbs and his team, with the chip that Reyes is looking for. With that, they planned to take all of Reyes fortune to buy freedom and start a new life. And for that, they roped in a few familiar faces

You have Tej and Roman Pearce (2 Fast 2 Furious), the funny duo Tego and Rico and Gisele (The Fast and Furious 4). Han (The Fast and Furious : Tokyo Drift) also is back, but do remember, Fast Five is before Tokyo Drift. They return to form a crew to pull of the bank heist.

The reason why I said that this is the best among the 5 is because it has more action, more muscle cars, less rice tuners, more fights and shooting, less bullshit and there's an epic bank heist in it. And let's not forget, there's a 10 second drag race that's so furious, windows in shops cracked.

And every supporting cast in this movie fits well. Ludacris and Tyrese played their characters well with funny jokes and one liners, Sung Kang's Han is the less talkative one but probably the coolest. Gisele fits perfect as the hot chick in the crew. The funny duo, Rico and Tego, provides us with their funny ways of getting the job done.

Lets not forget that Dwayne Johnson, playing Luke Hobbs, is the only character that has the F word in his lines. And all these characters are less annoying than expected.

The downside of this film is that there's only a few minutes of racing and drifting, its because Fast Five focuses on how the gang pull of the bank heist to get the villain's money. And since Fast Five is before Tokyo Drift, you do wonder why a 2011 Nissan Skyline GTR, 2010 Dodge Charger and the sexy Lexus LF-A is in the film, knowing that Toyko Drift is during 2006.

And I bet the team behind the franchise now totally regretted killing Han in Tokyo Drift.

Overall, this is how Fast and Furious should be. Fast cars with a lil bit of gun shooting, running on rooftops, exotic locations, actors that fit well to the characters, hot chicks and most of all, thrilling racers. I've been watching the series since the first one came out in 1999, and damn it Justin Lin, thank you for delivering us the best of the series.

Fast Five gets my "Best Kick Ass Bank Heist" movie of the year, knocking off The Italian Job. A 9/10.

And do stay during the credits, Eva Mendes makes a cameo appearence. So I guess a 6th installment will be in for us.

So far so Good

And yes, April's been good to me, I think. I was left home alone from Tuesday till Saturday, parents went back to Malacca to visit and take care of grandma for that time. Being alone sucks, again its all like Chinese New Year again, but this time its April and my friends aren't outstation.

You'll be surprised of the hundreds of friends you have on Facebook, only a handful would agree to visit you and make your days less lonely. I used to have like 600+ friends on Facebook, until I filtered and removed some whom I have accepted or added them since they are mutual friends with me. So, now I have 462 friends, but narrow it down to the people who will really be there for you, less than 30 =)

And my 3rd Semester in IACT is just going good, not great. They decided to replace my 3D lecturer because 'we deserve someone better', according to my lecturer's tweet. Just when I finally figured out how Autodesk Maya works, you wanna change my lecturer. He might not be able to speak perfect English, just like the HOD, but damn it, I'm amazed he has enough patience to teach us and also able to demonstrate the whole tutorial again.

For the past few weeks, my acne problem came back. I felt horrible, self-confidence came crashing down. Only until I decided its time to buy Cetaphil and Dalacin-T. Cetaphil works as my cleanser for my face, and Dalacin-T works as my acne killer =D

The pharmacist told me to wait till 2 weeks and see the results. I've been using it since Thursday, so far most of the red spots are gone. It'll take time, but for now, I'm just very happy.

A Prayer For Sarawak

A Prayer for Sarawak....

Sarawak is a state in Malaysia, where Christianity makes up most of the many religions practiced in this state. Right now passed midnight, Saturday April 16th marks the 10th state election. Sarawak is currently ruled by Barisan National.

Today during the youth home cell meeting, we decided to pray for Sarawak. Sarawak in my opinion has been neglected most of the times or maybe left out of the nation’s development plan. I have yet to see a change in Sarawak, in terms of BETTER EDUCATION, BETTER WELFARE, BETTER FACILITIES to the people in Sarawak. At times we even forget that Sarawak is part of Malaysia.

A few weeks ago I read the news that Holy Bibles in Bahasa Malaysia just released, but with a stamp of approval by the Home Ministry that the Holy Bibles will only be distributed to Christians only.

I mean, since when the Home Ministry decides whether the Word of God can be preached or shared to certain demographics only? I find this move by the government silly and just downright ridiculous.

And in times like this, when state election is near, the government then decides to pay close attention to Sarawak, and the spotlight is on this state just because of a state election. Politicians began to campaign around the state, handing out flags and badges to tell the people to vote and be by their side.

And as usual, after the election and if they win again, they’ll go back to square one and Sarawak is neglected again.

Dear God, there any many Christians in Sarawak that will suffer if their state, their homeland is not ruled by the right party. Generations will be affected in future. I just pray that the state elections later in the morning, it will run smoothly and hopefully, no dirty-tactics to be pulled by any of the government or opposition parties to get votes. I pray that the people in Sarawak will vote wisely and whatever outcome will affect the next general election. We Malaysians would also want a good party to rule the state, to look to the people’s problems and help them with it, not neglecting them and also be the voice of the state. Lord, you reign over Sarawak and every state in Malaysia. Let Your will be done.

While getting stuck in traffic on the way home, I had Anna Nalick on my playlist, was singing along ‘Breathe (2 a.m)’ and when I turned to my left, this girl in the car next to me was giving me this ‘WTH are you doing, I think I’m gonna read your lips’ look.

I was surprised =D

My Saturday...

And my Saturday morning was kinda emotional. This is the first time I attended a Christian funeral, singing hymns, hearing the relatives sharing about their deceased one. I walked one round with the 20+ people following the hearse.

And I watch my 'yi poh's coffin slowly going into the cremating machine to become ashes. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

Gone Peacefully =)

My grandma's step sister passed away peacefully in her sleep yesterday morning. Not blood related, but my family and I treat her like one. Every 1st day of the new year, we'll usually visit her at Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya.

I was shocked that she passed away, I was left speechless when mum broke the news to me. I remember the days when grandma and her would talk for hours about their teenage years during the Japaneses Occupation times. Her stories never gets old, even if we know she talked about it before, we would wanna listen to it again =)

"Yi poh", thanks for the cookies, the juices, the red packets you gave me whenever I visit you. I'm sorry and regretted not visiting you this year and what could have been the last time I'll see you. You lived a wonderful life, and yesterday morning God called you to come home to Him. I'm happy in fact, that you didn't have to spend your last hours of your life in a hospital, laying on your deathbed.

Going off in your sleep, it couldn't get any peaceful than that. You'll be sorely missed. And I know my grandma will miss you a lot, as a wonderful sister to her.

=')

SPM Cert

Finally, I had time to go back to my high school, SMK Seri Mutiara to take this SPM cert. Looking back, the results I got for History, Accounts and Science went beyond my expectation =) A lil' disappointed on my Bahasa Malaysia getting a B. Was aiming for a B+ or an A-.

Whoop whoop!!

Thanks to my cousin Jade-myn for getting this shirt for me, thanks mum for paying it for me =)

Crooks & Castles Air Gun black tee. I just realized American shirt sizes, like this is L size, is like XL over here =/ But then, its all good.

So Far So Good.....

I checked my 3rd semester results, and I'm really really happy =) IACT finally figured out how to post our results online. I remember I couldn't wait till the 3rd semester started, I drove all the way to college just to see my results.

An A for Typography, B for Sculpture.

I deserved that A for typography. I've spent so much time to outdo the rest, taking risks on layouts and designs for all of my assignments. And damn right, I got an A.

For sculpture, I was surprised to get a B. I thought I was gonna get a C+, because most of my projects aren't up to par with the rest. But nevertheless, I thank God for these results. I did badly for my 2nd semester, even though the worst result was a C, I didn't score a single A during those 4-5 months.

So I'll start my 4th semester tomorrow morning, as usual, 9:30 a.m classes. The last time I didn't have to wake up early for Mondays for classes is during my 2nd semester. My Monday class is 9 a.m till 11:30 a.m. I have to wake up as early as 7 : 30 and reach the Federal Highway by 8:15 a.m just to be safe. I only have 3 subjects, but have more tutorial classes to attend.

I hope the 4th semester will be alright for me. Time flies huh? =)

Port Dickson

Here's what I've been up to. I went to Port Dickson with my college buddies. I missed out on the last one because I was doing my internship and it was kinda expensive. But RM 300 for a penthouse and split by 14 people, you do the math.

This was probably the first time I went to Port Dickson after 4 years. The last time I went was during church camp.

So Mayang Sari Resort was the place. We were kinda surprised that there wasn't any occupants at all, because the car park was empty and just only 4 of our cars.

The room was alright, noticed that our doors have no knobs at all. The only way to lock it was to ledge the door. For the whole afternoon after checking in, we entertained ourselves by watching some horrible Malay-dubbed cartoon shows. TV9 had to ruin my childhood and mind-raped us.

Special mention goes to Zhou, for again planning and organizing this trip =)

Card games and drinks.

What's going to Port Dickson without heading to the beach to chill? We went after 2 hours killing time in the room.

I think its the first time, when we all get to chill and forget about everything in Kuala Lumpur that awaits us to bother.

You know, its been awhile since I felt like this. Not worrying about anything related to home, college work, just ANYTHING.

And its been a loooooooooong long time, I had this much fun =) I always wanted to know how it feels like being dragged onto the beach sand.

Oh well, at least I didn't get all wet.

I mean, after months of being separated, Graphic Design, Advertising, Mass Comm, we finally had a proper time together.

And its gonna be a long time till we get to have fun together like this =)

Dinner was just okay okay only. I never expected anything from Port Dickson restaurants. I don't like it when they ripped us off our money. I mean, RM 140 for 4 dishes, you gotta be kidding me. But then again, we'll only be patronizing them just once only, so its their only chance to make every penny out of us.

Oh well, can't complain.

Went back for the main event.
Its our tradition, a must for every outstation trip. And I though the night at Sekinchan was great, this one was just awesome!!

The games we played, the amount of Tiger beer we finished. 2 24 can cartons, this was the first time I drank alot on one night.

Everyone had a great night.
