Orang asli trip

Went for a orang asli trip right after church service. The orang asli settlement is located right inside the area after turning in to the national zoo. Each of us youth have to at least contribute a set of essential items to the orang asli families.

Including :
5kg of rice
A packet of salt
A packet of sugar
A tin of assorted biscuits
1kg of oil (bottled)

All I got it at Tesco. All can be bought under RM30

I'll let the pics do the talking.

On the way...

Scenery.

Some of the parents who fetched us parked their cars at the entrance, and we all had to walked all the way to our destination.

The orang asli community is quite small.

Hey piggy!!!! A cute little wild boar popped out to us.The wild boar the center of the attraction. No Vanessa, not char siew lah.....

This is how their houses look like. Inside their house, they only have cooking utensils, a few furniture and that's it.

They don't pay taxes, cuz they don't have electricity and water. Don't ask me where they get their water from.

Here's piggy again...

Lazy bum.

After that, the village leader asked the whole community to gather in the hall. Pastor John Kelly introduced us to them. And then.............praise session begins.

The orang asli community was excited to see Elijah. They have never seen a Negro before in their whole life.

The worship team.

After the session, we were exploring the village, lead by one of the orang asli people.

Ducks. I didn't know I had to eat them for dinner. (Duck with porridge)

While touring around the area, this has gotten my attention.

A drawing. Not just any ordinary drawing to me. I find it cute and innocent. The drawing looks like a train. (Well duh dimwit)

And that must be the driver. (Daniel, you're damn smart already. Congrats)

The tour guide even showed us their ultimate weapon. A blowpipe.

Elijah was one lucky fella.

See what is the tour guide holding. The blowpipe's ammo. Yeah, contains poison so dangerous, when it makes contact with your skin, you're kicking the bucket in no time.

Oh yeah.....orang asli don't buy insurance. So, if we made a slight accident by touching it, we'll be knocking on heaven's door.

Elijah blows......

And the poisonous ammo went to the trees.

After that, we said our goodbyes, and had to walk back to the cars and go home.

After the trip, one thing that I've learned is that we people in K.L are very blessed to have electricity so that fans can cool us, television can entertain us, that we're able to surf the net and interact with lots of stuff, cool handphones, food always on the table, a bed and pillow to sleep on. Gee...what more can I say.

Compare to them, I'm very blessed to have parents to fulfill my needs and wants, and also to care for me day and night, and unconditionally loved me.

Think about it? Still wanna complain or not?
