4th place good

All the hard work, the hours of practice, the weeks of training. Skipping classes, missing alot of homeworks, screwing up at the last minute. All these were paid of when the results were what we wanted.

4th place.

That's it, no more. Just wanna be in the top 5. Top 5 will be our passport to the finals next week.

I thought we'll miss out like last year, 6th placed. But this time, damn right we deserve to get 4th place.

Pahlawanku and Lion Sleeps Tonight, these 2 songs really showed how good we are. Ok, sound a little too cocky lah but trust me, these 2 songs bring the best out of the choir team.

Ok, we were supposed to be singing Sean Kingston's "Beautiful Girls" chorus at the starting part, but due this plan being last minute suggested and we all don't wanna take the huge risk. But now we made it to the finals, with a week of preparations left, last chance to practice that song perfectly.

Today morning, 1 a.m, couldn't sleep at all. I mean, think of it, its your last year in school, the only prize you haven't get your hands on is the choir competition (screw the handball). Went to school dressed up in slacks and white shirt. Didn't bring any books today, cause I know we all will be practicing for hours and then spend the rest of the school session in the hall.

Went to the music room, practice the songs again. The dynamics were abit off, but managed to tune it back again. While the teacher is busy doing the last minute make up for the girls, Santosh, Samuel and me did our own redition of Mrs. Officer and More Than Words. Still think Extreme's version was way better than Frankie J's cover.

Yu Kin and Matthew.

Matthew and Santosh.

Matthew again...(handphone died afterwards, F Nokia)

Ok ok, can't wait for band practice. When can we start teacher? Diong is so excited of us performing Decode.

So a few minutes before going on stage, Santosh and I start practicing our introduction. We wanted to perfect our timing going out and up the stage.

Skip.....so when we're on stage, we were kinda nervous and feeling shitty at first, but like what Sam said, we had to give our very best. Starting part of the song was good, the going great....until the piano missed a key and Alto went a little fast. Luckily for our conductor Yi Vonn, she managed to get us back on track. Fuyoh, The Lion Sleeps Tonight was one of the many good songs that was performed today.

Then after singing, a loud applause for us. We then calmly walked one by one to the backstage, and rushed back to the hall to watch Convent Bukit Nanas's choir performance.

Guess what's their starting intro song? "Hot and Cold" by Katy Perry. That's it Santosh, we're doing "Dead and Gone" for the finals!!! Convent Bukit Nanas's choir team's dynamics were good, voice was well projected. The only missing part was the energy like they had last year. Their second song was "Man In The Mirror" by Michael Jackson.

So after watching the performance, me and Yu Kin went to the canteen and bought some drinks. The form ones were having their co-curiculum activities. Only 2, which is Scout and Kadet Remaja Sekolah. Kadet Remaja Sekolah's activities were so dull, we kinda pity them for a second, until we paid attention to the Scouts.

You Scouts are lucky to have such an active teacher like Pn. Nurul as your teacher. Yu Kin and I started to play the games that the Scouts were playing, and some of the form ones were looking at us, laughing at us. What a way to have fun. Then, Pn. Nurul and another Indian teacher then asked all of them to stand up and march. Santosh then came along and joined us marching.

The fun begins when Pn. Nurul was demostrating a cute dance. First you put both of your hands on your waist, then move left, front, back, right and so on. More like a ho-down. Out of the blue Mabel Goo joined us, so 4 seniors (Me, Santosh, Yu Kin and Mabel) stood at the back, and did the silly dance. We add in laughter to the Scouts.

The Indian teacher saw us, asked us why were we here. We told her we were bored and got nothing to do. She smiled and let us be. I'm still so confused over the dance step. I sense a YouTube sensation coming in.

26 school choir teams finished their performance, the results will later be announced. While Sam, Santosh and me were walking around at the assemby area, we heard a group of people screaming. It was none other than our choir group members. Matthew then ran to Santosh and hugged him. From a certain angle, it looks like Santosh and Matthew were engaging in a sex position. LOL.

It was news that we got 5th place. But Yi Vonn told us that's just rumours. Oh my gosh, imagine the embarassment lah, celebrate but in the end miss out Top 5?!

I was late for extra classes. Pn. Anita asked me what's the results, I told her I don't know yet. Then after the class, I saw Angeline. Madam Tee told Angeline and gang that we got 4th place.

YEEEEEEEHAAAWW!!!!!!

But it was a surprise that Convent Bukit Nanas was 2nd place.
